Now that was some better weather! Many people in shorts and short sleeves, didn't see any stocking caps or fuzzy mittens. And, I got some color on my arms and legs. Now that's golf. Oh, the winds were making some holes a challenge, but really just gave you something to think about on your shots.

I'd say Isaiah agreed, as he set the standard for the day in scoring with his net 72. Ben also seemed to enjoy the conditions as he was just one stroke back at 73 to take second. Third was Eric at net 75, followed by Money at 76. Good shooting gentlemen, I know having those low scores make a good day even better.

In Gross competition it was Colin that picked up the win at 82. Second was Dave Hiatt at 86, with Brent Baker and Ben tying for third at 87. Fourth was Dan at 88, and then a tie for fifth between Eric and Isaiah. Again, good shooting fellas. There wasn't a ton of birdies out there, so to shoot those scores meant a lot of steady play.

The win puts Isaiah at the top of the season standings, overtaking Scott Jacobs by 5 points. Ben and Bradley are tied for third, with Eric rounding out the top 5. But there is still a long way to go in this season, so absolutely anyone's championship to win. I Gross season standings, Colin is out current leader. He also is just 5 points ahead of Scott, with Jake and Dave tied for third. And Bradley rounds out our top 5 in this category. Again, a long ways to go for the season.

We added one person to the ranks of DefenderCup play this week as Todd Zeller joined us for the round. Todd says he likes what we have going and expects to play fairly regular, so if you see Todd out there please introduce yourself and help welcome him to the ranks.

I need to put a reminder out there that we need to all be mindful of pace of play. When you are out on the course as just your buddies, you may not care much about maintaining reputation with the courses, but with DefenderCup we absolutely need to maintain our reputation, as courses very much remember groups of this size that get out there regularly. We'll start having courses not allow us back if we disrupt the tee times of their public players too much. Basically, just keep up with the group in front of you. If you aren't right on their heels, you need to pick up the pace. There are suggestions on how to do that on the Rules page on this website. I realize it's early in the season, we all need to get back into the swing of things, so not a big deal. But this is a major challenge for me so just putting this reminder out there for those that read it. I need everyone to help me with this.

I think that's all I have this week. Thanks again to everyone that came out this week. Got to see a few more faces I hadn't seen since last year, that was great!
