Well that was a first, having to worry about the sleet on the green affecting my putt. What the heck were you people thinking? We should NOT have been out there golfing in that weather. It is confirmed, you people are crazy. I guess, as Harrison said out on the course, at least it wasn't raining.
Evidently there are some people less affected by the weather than others, as there was some fairly low numbers thrown down in that mess. Leading the way in that regard was Jim Benjamin, as he carded a net 85 to easily take the win. Bradley and Jim Cooney also had good rounds as they tied for 2nd at net 70. Back a bit but still putting up respectable numbers was Connor, Isaiah and Andrew at net 75 to tie for fourth. Here all these people where putting up good numbers while the rest of us were just trying to survive. Well, my hat's off to all of you. Well done.
In the world of scratch golf it was Connor that stole the show with his 78. Bradley tried to give Connor a run with his 80. Third was Jim Benjamin at 86, while Jim Cooney and Shawn put up 88s to tie for 4th. Looks like I still have a bug in my Gross Points calculation though, so I'll need to fix that here soon.
We welcomed another golfer to the DefenderCup family as Harrison Hallet joined us for the round. That makes an even 50 people that have golfed with us so far this year. Over half way to the record we set just last year.
Of those 50 people, Isaiah is at the top of the standings still with 71 points. Jim Benjamin is only 13 points behind though, with Scott Jacobs and Bradley only 16 points back. Jim Cooney rounds out the top 5.
In Gross season standings Colin is sitting at the top (although his lead will shrink a bit when I fix the gross points calculation), with Scott Jacobs, Bradly and Connor right behind.
I want to thank Brent Baker and Charlene for stepping up to help out while Scooter and Eric were away. Sure made my life easier before, during, and after the round.
Also want to thank the likes of Ken, Olivia, Matt and Kathryn. They were planning to be in, but saw the weather forecast and dropped out early on Friday. This gave me a chance to plan and adjust as best I could, as opposed to waiting to drop an hour before the round. So thanks to all of you who help me in this regard as well.
